.

Our services include preventive care and treatment programs. One of the first steps in treatment is performing diagnostics to understand the nature of an issue. We offer several different types of diagnostics, including blood diagnostics. The type of bloodwork required depends on the particular case involved, however, a CBC (complete blood count) is often required in most blood diagnostics. A CBC test measures the number of white and red blood cells in the body. This test can determine several issues, including finding out if the body is fighting a particular infection, if the body is low on hemoglobin, and more.

A Blood Chemistry Panel test can be also be performed. This test determines the level of enzymes, electrolytes, and other elements in the blood. The test can also be used to determine the level of glucose, phosphorus, and calcium in the blood. These tests provide veterinarians insights on the condition of the organs, including the liver and kidneys.

If your pet needs surgery, blood diagnostics will be useful to determine several important aspects related to the surgery such as the amount of anesthesia that can be safely administrated. Even if your pet is not suffering from any particular health concern, it is a good idea for an animal to have periodic blood tests to keep a check on several key indicators of health.
